Writing a Strong Application

Practical advice to help your application stand out

Be Authentic

Share your genuine story. The grant values authenticity over perfection. Write about your real experiences, challenges, and aspirations.

Be Specific

Use concrete examples rather than general statements. Instead of saying 'I want to help people,' describe a specific moment that shaped your goals.

Address Challenges Honestly

If you've faced obstacles — financial, personal, or academic — don't shy away from discussing them. This grant exists to support students through difficult circumstances.

Proofread Carefully

Grammar and spelling matter. Read your essay aloud, use spell-check tools, and ask someone you trust to review it before submitting.

What Happens After You Apply?

Understanding the review and award process

Application Review

After the July 15 deadline, all applications are reviewed holistically. The review considers your essay, personal circumstances, and educational goals — not just academic metrics.

Recipient Selection

The grant recipient is selected based on the overall strength of their application. Since there is no GPA requirement, the selection focuses on potential, authenticity, and need.

Award Notification

The selected recipient will be notified by July 31, 2026. All applicants will receive a notification regarding the status of their application.

Fund Disbursement

The $1,000 grant is disbursed through a secure payment system directly to the recipient's educational institution or as specified by the platform.
